Shittier Cars to Come?
So, the canada US border now has substantial tariffs on automotive parts.
If things go according to Trumps plan, this will push companies to sever their logistics and manufacture more in one country or the other.
I figure this will mean companies like GM will find themselves trying to manufacture parts that they have never needed to manufacture, and given it’s the company’s first go at it, those parts will probably suck.
So, if these tariffs stick around for any substantial amount of time, will we see a slew of noticeably shittier new cars roll into the market?
Will that even further inflate the cost of used cars, as people scramble to find a vehicle that wont “spontaneously disassemble” at 100km/r?
I didn’t think it’d be possible for a used 2008 Toyota Matrix from Cambridge ON to get any more expensive than it is now, but here we are.
